Gabriela Carrera is the positive youth development specialist and network and outreach officer for the Proyecto Acción Transforamdora in Guatemala. She is responsible for conceptualizing and developing the project's Youth Committee and Network.
She is a professor of political theory and sociopolitical research at the Political and Social Sciences Faculty (URL). She was assistant director of the Rafael Landívar University's advocacy unit, Dirección de Incidencia Pública, and technical assistant of a young leadership project coordinated by one of the research institutes, Instituto Investigaciones y Gerencia Política (INGEP). She has been part of research groups on youth and political issues promoted by the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), Propaz Foundation, and the Association of Research and Social Studies (ASIES). She has been involved in different citizen and collective participation initiatives in Guatemala City. She is also a columnist for Plaza Pública and Gazeta Magazine, both in Guatemala.
She holds a BA in political science from Rafael Landívar University (URL) in Guatemala and is currently pursuing an MA in Hispanic-American literature at the same university.
