Emily provides operational, compliance, and administrative support to several IREX initiatives on gender and social inclusion, civil society strengthening, civic engagement, human rights, and positive youth development throughout the Middle East & North Africa.
Prior to joining IREX, Emily specialized in operations, communications, and marketing for start-up businesses in the US and the Middle East. She co-founded the Al-Mashriq Center for Arabic Instruction, an Arabic language study abroad program in Amman, Jordan, where she worked for several years as Communications Director. As the Executive Director of the Institute for Integrated Arabic, she currently provides consulting services to improve the effectiveness of Arabic language education programs in the US and abroad.
Emily is fluent in Levantine Arabic and Spanish. She holds a bachelor of arts in Near Eastern Studies from Cornell University. In her spare time, she organizes a charity golf tournament benefitting The First Tee of Greater Washington, DC.
