Constance Smith-Clemens currently serves as Library Media Specialist with Akron Public Schools, where she has taught Social Studies classes since 1998. She has worked with students between the ages 14 and 18 years old with a variety of ability levels including: general education, special education, special needs, college preparatory and Advanced Placement. As a teacher leader, Constance has mentored teachers, student teachers, and conducted professional development workshops. Most recently she has participated in the national Teacher-Ranger-Teacher program as a National Park Ranger at Cuyahoga Valley National Park where she connected her school community with the Park and its resources. With an interest and respect for world cultures, Constance used her opportunity to work with TGC to develop and share an authentic global perspective with her colleagues and students.
