Christian A. Williams (he/him) is a program officer for the Community Engagement Exchange (CEE) Program, Specialists and Reciprocal Exchanges.

In this role, Christian supports the CEE Program by fostering a community of global civil society experts who provide mentorship and project development support to aspiring changemakers from around the world as they ideate, coordinate and implement community engagement projects.

With over a decade of professional experience, Christian prides himself on unlocking human potential by cultivating confidence within - and connections among – people. Prior to IREX, Christian served as coordinator for extended orientation and transition programs at the University of Delaware (UD). At UD, Christian directed Delaware in D.C., an experiential learning program for first-year students completing professional internships across the Washington D.C. metro area; and Summit, a portfolio of adventure-focused extended orientation experiences. He has also previously worked in the hospitality, travel and communications industries. A recognized advocate for LGBTQ+ people and communities of color, he was named to The Advocate Magazine’s annual Champions of Pride list in 2020 and received the inaugural Pride Award from the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) in 2021, having served as a driving force behind the professional association's national expansion of LGBT and allyship initiatives.

Christian holds a master’s degree in higher education from Florida State University, and a bachelor’s degree in mass communications (public relations track) with areas of concentration in sociology and hospitality studies from Florida International University. Outside of his work at IREX, he maintains his interest in the wine and spirits industry as a product educator and actively seeks artistic pursuits as an emerging fixture of LGBT nightlife throughout the Northeast Regional corridor.
