Christal Juarez Iñiguez is a program associate for the Fulbright Teacher Exchanges Programs. In this role, Christal helps implement professional development programs for international educators.

Before joining IREX, Christal worked as a student enrollment advisor at the UC Davis Global Learning Hub where she advised undergraduate, graduate, and prospective students on achieving their global learning goals. Christal later joined the UC Davis Global Affairs team as an intern for the UN Sustainable Development Goals to support the development of the UC Davis SDG Network.

In 2019, Christal attended the Asia-Pacific Rim Universities Undergraduate Leader’s Program, hosted by the University of Oregon to challenge international student leaders to find local solutions to global problems. She then studied in Argentina and Chile as a recipient of the Benjamin Gilman International Scholarship, a program that aids underserved communities administered by the Institute of International Education. Most recently, Christal supported the Gilman team as one of the selected Alumni Ambassadors for the program’s 2020-2021 cohort, collaborating with U.S. educators to expand the reach of the scholarship.

Christal graduated from the University of California, Davis with a double BA in Anthropology and International Relations, and a minor in Human Rights.
