Benjamin Hiromura is a Program Coordinator with the Fulbright Teacher Exchanges team at IREX. Benjamin supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of IREX’s exchange programs designed for international teachers.

Prior to joining IREX, Benjamin completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in International Education at the George Washington University where he focused primarily on how various forms of globalization impact curricula and teachers around the world. Before achieving this degree, Benjamin taught English as a foreign language (EFL) in Kochi, Japan for four years as a member of the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program. Benjamin studied elementary education at DePaul University and worked as a social studies teacher in Chicago for two years before moving to Japan. Benjamin is passionate about supporting teachers from around the world navigate the global trends that impact their curricula and pedagogy in complicated ways.
