Abraham Ybrah Mengstu has more than 3 years of experience in medical practice and teaching, and over 2 years of experience at different levels of leadership in Ethiopia. He is currently working at Aksum University Referral Hospital and Medical School, which he established as the dean of the medical school. Realizing that his country has significant shortage of medical doctors, Abraham joined Aksum University, believing that he would play a part in producing more doctors for his country. Askum University Referral Hospital is currently serving as health care for more than 3.6 million people. Abraham holds a Bachelor degree in Human Medicine from Jimma University Medical School. He believes that the fellowship will enhance his leadership role in the institution that he is working at, in his future leadership career and in strengthening the health care system in Ethiopia.
