New IREX Web Feature: Find Local Development Leaders by Country, Topic

Meet Our Leaders

Who are some of the leading African male gender experts? Who is developing sustainable energy in Bangladesh? How can I get in touch with conflict resolution practitioners in the Middle East?

IREX’s new web feature answers those questions and more. It’s a searchable, digital repository of every participant in the Community Solutions Program. From more than 30 countries, these leaders address global challenges with local solutions. By leveraging their networks and experience gained during four-month fellowship programs in the U.S., the leaders return home better equipped to direct and inspire long-lasting change.

Among the leaders are:

• Moses Sanga, recently featured in The New York Times for his enterprising green fuel business;

• Yasmine Ibrahim, a founding partner of an organization that increases freedom of expression for women and youth in Egypt; and

Landry Mayigane, a Rwandan expert on food security and climate change.
