YDCP Community Schools Brochure

IREX's Community Schools model is part of the Youth Development Competencies Program (YDCP), designed and implemented by IREX and funded by USAID.

YDCP is based on best practices in positive youth development. This includes approaching youth as a resource to be developed, rather than a problem to be solved; focusing on holistically nurturing skills and competencies, not solely preventing specific problems; and engaging the whole community. Within YDCP, 15 schools are functioning as centers for constructive civic engagement in small towns and villages in the Murmansk, Tomsk and Kursk regions of Russia.
