Emira Ibrahimpasic This project sheds light on the ways in which increased religious belief and practice serve as a stabilizing force. For women in particular, Islam has come to provide a space of protection and content in unstable environments. Islam, therefore, should not be seen as a threat, but rather can serve as a tool of peace and stability. Finally, this project shows that Islam is not incompatible with progress and modernity, but rather can co-exist and co-operate.
