University Writing Centers: A Case Study of the University of Louisville Writing Center
Akmaral Kairbayeva’s interests are in the areas of quality assurance, the integration of teaching and research, and strategic planning. She studied the way academic writing centers are organized at US universities. Her specific goals within the program were to see the structure of the Academic Writing Center at Louisville University, the roles of the tutors and consultants involved in the work of the center, and approaches to the practice of academic writing skills both in and outside the center. Upon return to her home university she plans to establish an analogous academic writing center.
