Tech Age Teachers Fact Sheets

IREX began implementing the Tech Age Teachers project in 2012, as a way to offer computer and Internet technology trainings to local teachers in the cities of Atyrau and Kulsary. The program has four main objectives:

• Transform the Internet as a relevant part of education, both in schools and in libraries for teachers and youth;
• Give teachers and youth new skills that are invaluable in a developing economy and increase their future employment prospects;
• Develop the leadership skills, community needs awareness and intellectual creativity of teachers and engage them in their communities;
• Preserve cultural heritage and advance Kazakh online content for and about the Atyrau region.
