A Study of Institutions and Superordinate Goals on Interorganizational Cooperation in Romanian Industrial Organizations (Research Brief)
The transformation of formal and informal institutions and the subsequent organizational structure and performance change is of particular interest in the transition of post-communist economies. The topic of this research was to obtain qualitative information on the role of informal institutions and their influence on the formal institutions of Just-In-Time, Total Quality Management and Supply Cha in Management. These formal institutions, developed in Japan and later used in the United States and Europe, have been shown to improve the performance of industrial firms. My previous survey research showed that Romanian industrial firms used some aspects of TQM, but did not use JIT and Supply Chain Management techniques to a significant degree.
