Spring 2011 University Administration Support Program Fellows

The Spring 2011 cohort of University Administration Support Program fellows brings together 8 leading university administrators - 1 from Armenia, 1 from Georgia, 1 from Ghana, 2 from Russia and 3 from Ukraine. They are currently studying a range of university management topics at host universities across the country. 

 

Anna Ackom

University of Education, Winneba, GHANA

Human Resources

University of Nebraska - Omaha

Anna Ackom holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from the University    of Ghana, Legon, a Master’s of Education degree in Administration, a Bachelor’s of Education degree in Home Economics and a Diploma in Biology from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. She has worked at the University of Education, Winneba since 2005, with administrative appointments in the office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor and the School of Creative Arts. Ackom is currently an Assistant Registrar in the Division of Human Resource, where she handles staff recruitment, placement, development, as well as benefits and compensation.

 

Gabriel Balayan

Gabriel Balayan holds an advanced degree in Legal Sciences, as well as and degrees in Law and History from Yerevan State University. Balayan previously worked in the investigation department of the State Tax Service, and has served on several international committees on higher education and human rights. Currently, he serves as Vice-Rector for financial issues and accountancy at Yerevan State Linguistic University.  

 

Oleksandr Dumin

Oleksandr Dumin holds a post-graduate degree from the Department of Theoretical Radio Physics of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and a graduate degree in Radio Physics and Electronics from the same institution. He held a number of positions as a researcher and engineer before joining the staff of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University as Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Electrodynamics. He currently combines his teaching and research duties with his administrative position as Vice-Dean for Pedagogical Work of the School of Radio Physics.  

 

Ia Kupatadze

Ia Kupatadze holds a degree in architecture from Georgia Technical University and a MFA from the University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art and Design. She worked as an architect and developer for five years before moving into her current position as the Coordinator of the College of Engineering of Ilia State University, where she has taken on a variety of administrative, management and strategic duties.  

 

Yaroslav Prytula

Lviv Ivan Franko National University, UKRAINE

Yaroslav Prytula holds a post-graduate degree in Complex Analysis and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanics and Mathematics from Lviv Ivan Franko National University. Prytula previously served as the Assistant Chair of Function Theory and Probability at Lviv Ivan Franko National University, and has also contributed to numerous research projects on economics and education in the United States and Ukraine. Now, in addition to his role as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of International Relations at Lvivi Ivan Franko National University, he also teaches in the Department of International Economic Analysis and Finance at that institution.  

 

Marat Safiullin

Kazan Federal University, RUSSIA

Marat Safiullin holds a PhD in Economics from Kazan State Financial Economic Institute. He served as head of the Management Department of the Kazan State Financial Economic Institute for nearly 10 years before bringing his skills to government service, most recently as Minister of the Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan. Currently he is the Vice-President for Strategic Planning and Economic Development at Kazan Federal University and Director of the Advanced Economic Research Center in the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan.  

 

Olena Tupakhina

Zaporizhzhya National University, UKRAINE

Olena Tupakhina holds an advanced degree in Philology from Kiev Taras Shevchenko National University as well as degrees in teaching English and German language and literature. Prior to taking her current position as Head of the International Office at Zaporizhzhya National University, she served as Director of the Foreign Languages Center at that institution. She has also served as Chair in the department of German Philology since 2003, where she teaches and advises BA and MA students.  

 

Aleksandr Vnutskikh

Perm State University, RUSSIA

Aleksandr Vnutskikh holds a PhD in Philosophy, as well as a degree in Biology from Perm State University. He has taken on roles of progressively greater responsibility in the Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology, stepping into the position of Dean in 2007. Vnutskikh has also won numerous teaching and research awards for his work in the department.
