Securing the Community: Reconciliation, Trust and Integration in the Western Balkans (Research Brief)

This project studies the development of “security community” in the Western Balkan region.

The IREX grant supported research in two Western Balkan countries (Macedonia and Serbia). Specifically, the project explores the extent to which trust and mutual responsiveness is developing within and among the countries in the area, and how such trust and responsiveness enhances peaceful security policy and cooperation and decreases tension and potential for violent conflict.
