Research Management in a University with a High Level of Independence (based on experience of Kent State University)

Ihor Studenyak’s interests are in the areas of research management as well as the integration of teaching and research. He investigated the roles and tasks of university administration in relation to the management of research and teaching and their integration in a university with a high level of independence. He also studied the system of financial sources for research and development in an American university, and explored cooperation between universities, private enterprises and organizations in planning, financing, setting up and fulfilling research and innovative projects. Upon return to his home university, he plans to implement close cooperation with local governmental bodies, companies and enterprises in search of possible applications of the home university potential as well as experience in implementation of the university research results in industry, in advertising and exhibition activities, in organization of scientific conferences and fellowships.
