A Prospect of Strategic Planning in Higher Education: Changes and Continuities at the College of New Jersey (Case Study)

This case study summarizes findings of the author’s research on strategic planning and its dynamics in a higher education institution, namely The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). This case study embeds an overview of strategic planning process and can serve a guide for mapping out a plan of activities for aligning and implementing new reforms in the Armenian higher education institutions and for connecting strategic planning to the organizational effectiveness and success of any university in the long run. While not offering a comprehensive approach to strategic planning, this case study aims to describe the model of strategic planning at TNCJ, which includes the following elements: Organizational Culture and Competitive Advantage; Mission and Core Values; Strategic Priorities, Goals and Objectives, Strategies;  Stakeholder Management and Environmental Scan; Systematic Assessment of Organizational Effectiveness.
