Professors’ Portfolio: Appointment, Reappointment and Promotion Procedures at Major Research Public Universities in USA

Nino Javakhishvili is interested in various areas of university administration from the point of view of staff and faculty. The main areas of her research are social psychology, gender and higher education. As a quality assurance system representative at her university, she is interested in the evaluation and self-evaluation of academic personnel, faculty and student mobility, and the design and structure of major research universities. Upon her return home, Dr. Javakhishvili plans to share her experience with the representatives of the quality assurance service and the Faculty of Social and Political sciences, and to introduce new techniques of evaluation and self-evaluation at Tbilisi State University.
