Hryhoriy Baran studied the work of an international relations office at a US university. He focused his research on the experience of the US universities in the sphere of working with international students as well as study abroad programs for American students. He is interested in all aspects of work with foreign students, including policies and legal issues (admission requirements and evaluation of academic credentials, visa procedures); recruitment and retention (marketing of programs, partnerships with foreign universities and organizations); academic and student services (orientation programs, language training and guidebooks for international students). Upon his return he plans to develop programs like a university strategic plan focused on the attraction of international students; university policies, regulations and mechanisms necessary for work with international students; a recruitment program; an orientation program, guidelines and services for helping international students to adjust and become successful.
