Human Resource Management and Delivery: The Kent State University Experience (Case Study)
The objectives of Human Resource Management (HRM) span from manpower needs assessment to management and retention of the same. HRM is responsible for effective designing and implementation of various policies, procedures and programs. The scope of HRM covers, but is not limited to, planning, hiring, recruitment and selection, training and development, payroll management, rewards and recognition, industrial relations, grievance handling, and legal procedures. This case study examines the HR practices at Kent State University to find out how they are delivered and aligned to those of the organization in order to determine how HR is generally managed and the value that it delivers.
The study uses the cyclic nature of HR functions to examine the function from talent/employee acquisition to exit.
