Faculty and Organizational Development: Navigating a Journey on the Academic Sea (Case Study)
To meet the needs of students for 21st century skills and their alignment with market needs, university instructors must engage in continual professional development. The study presents a vision of how to use faculty development to change the culture of Ukrainian higher education with the goal of creating a productive teaching and learning environment. The author describes the Ukrainian model of faculty development activities and justifies the need a change; analyzes the model of Michigan State University and identifies the most relevant and needed practices to be implemented in Ukraine, and why they are effective; and envisions the necessary steps that should be undertaken to make the integration of MSU model into Ukrainian educational environment possible.
