Faculty and Organizational Development: Navigating a Journey on the Academic Sea (Case Study)

To meet the needs of students for 21^st century skills and their alignment with market needs, university instructors must engage in continual professional development. The study presents a vision of how to use faculty development to change the culture of Ukrainian higher education with the goal of creating a productive teaching and learning environment. The author describes the Ukrainian model of faculty development activities and justifies the need a change; analyzes the model of Michigan State University and identifies the most relevant and needed practices to be implemented in Ukraine, and why they are effective; and envisions the necessary steps that should be undertaken to make the integration of MSU model into Ukrainian educational environment possible.
