Jovana Lazic What I discovered in my research and through conversations with more senior scholars is that while corruption was certainly an important appearance during this time, it formed part of a much larger story that has yet to be told in Yugoslav historiography, namely the impact of the First World War on the development of Yugoslav state and society. I came to understand that a great deal still remains unclear about the post-war state of the Yugoslav state, society and culture, which forms the context for the appearance of corruption in state and society.
