Civil Society Start-up Assessment, 2010

This start-up assessment of civil society in Liberia was created before implementation of the Civil Society and Media Leadership Program in Liberia's (CSML) civil society component. At the outset of the (CSML), IREX conducted a desktop study of the civil society sector in Liberia focusing on its public image, attitudes of government officials toward the sector, effectiveness and organizational capacity of the sector. The study utilizes data from USAID, IREX’s Media Sustainability Index (MSI) and leading NGOs such as AGENDA (author of the recent “Civil Society Index”) and TRUST AFRICA.
