Anna Proskurina
Director, Organizational Development Office
Samara State University
Grant: The Organizational Development Office and Life-long Learning Opportunities for Senior Citizens
This project aims to establish and conduct training courses for senior citizens as part of Samara State University’s (SSU) life-long learning and community relations programs. SSU has developed its community relations by establishing an International Board of Trustees, Alumni Association, and by conducting training workshops with the Samara business community. The university’s Organizational Development Office will further strengthen university-community relations through programs of social importance, and marginalized groups such as senior citizens will benefit from scientific achievements. Senior citizens are the largest and one of the most vulnerable groups in the Russian Federation whose expertise is often untapped. Although many have rich professional experiences and are willing to utilize them, they need additional training to acquire new job skills that the community demands. The project will establish educational programs for senior citizens to provide life-long learning opportunities.

SSU will improve the quality and increase the employability of graduates by creating opportunities for fieldwork and internships outside of the university. The project will also strengthen links with local and international businesses, increase the university’s fundraising potential, strengthen ties among alumni through expanding alumni services, and improve SSU’s image throughout the local, national, and international job market.
Konstantin Nadolin
Associate Dean, Informatics, Mechanics and Math Department
Rostov State University
Grant: The Teaching and Learning IT Service and Technology in the Classroom
This project will improve and enlarge the Teaching and Learning IT Service (TLS) of the Mechanics and Mathematics Department at Rostov State University. The TLS was created in 2005 under the framework of a previous UASP pilot project grant. Under the current project, the two new structural units that will be added to the TLS are a Staff IT Training Center and a License Management Group. These new units will enable the TLS to provide services in the management of modern educational IT equipment and technical support for the faculty. The improved Teaching and Learning IT Service will help incorporate modern IT equipment into teaching. This will enhance learning outcomes and accelerate the application of information technologies into education and university administration.
