The project is funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State.

Program Activities

Journalism educators from the Middle East and United States visit each other’s campuses. These exchanges create a collaborative work environment that fosters innovation in journalism instruction at the university level.

  • Investigative Journalism Training Program
Middle East educators conduct a three-week professional development exchange in the United States. Educators meet with journalists, public interest groups, government officials, and other professionals to learn about investigative journalism and public accountability mechanisms.

  • Investigative Journalism Curriculum Development
In collaboration with their US counterparts and supported by expanded and updated instruction methodolody and materials, Middle East educators develop new journalism curriculum. Educators are encouraged to develop lessons that supplement theory with practical course work and student media.
