Doctors in Kutaisi learn computer usage skills to
survive in health reform process
In February, IATP centers in Kutaisi and Batumi sponsored IT trainings for medical professionals, enabling them to be competitive and either survive in the privatization process or find alternative employment after the privatization of all medical institutions in the country in upcoming reforms. These trainings were a continuation of an IATP initiative to make doctors aware of government’s reforms and innovations in the healthcare field - for past two months, IATP hosted two online discussions with government officials to help citizens voice their concerns and be counted in the policymaking process. Doctor Ketavan Koncelidze commented, “My friend has offered me a job to do computer work at the pharmacy he owns, so the knowledge I received gives me more opportunity not to be left unemployed.”
