Program Overview
Partners
Building on years of experience with anti-trafficking and women’s empowerment programs, IREX has joined the coalition implementing the Technical Assistance for USAID Anti-Trafficking Activities task order (ATTO). This is a task order under the Women in Development Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC).
The three-year task order is designed to help governments, NGOs, USAID missions, and other organizations worldwide better identify and combat trafficking through technical assistance provided by experts in gender and anti-trafficking issues. Project partners support USAID/Washington and field missions by identifying and developing activities to address trafficking, reviewing and assessing existing activities, designing and implementing activities, and initiating pilot projects in selected missions. Chemonics International, Inc. is the prime contractor on this activity.
Trafficking continues to be a major development issue; therefore, much of the work under ATTO can be conducted in tandem with existing USAID development projects. IREX and other project partner activities include:
-
Helping USAID/Washington and field missions strengthen the quality of their anti-trafficking programming and expand their knowledge of trafficking issues;
-
Supporting the Office of Women in Development (EGAT/WID) in its role as USAID’s anti-trafficking coordinator;
-
Designing and implementing cutting-edge pilot activities for selected missions on high priority anti-trafficking issues, based on assessment recommendations or emerging US government priorities.
