AmmanNet, a Jordanian nongovernmental organization launched in November 2000, is the first independent radio station of its kind in the MENA region that broadcasts news, music, talk programs as well as a variety of social, economic and sports issues using the Internet. Over 300,000 unique hits are recorded monthly.

Center for Defending the Freedom of Journalists (CDFJ) was established in Amman as a nonprofit, nongovernment organization in 1999. CDFJ’s vision for the world is a place where professional journalists are committed to the international standards of independent media in an environment that protects freedom of expression and enhances society’s right to knowledge.
The Centre for Media Freedom in the Middle East and North Africa (CMFMENA), founded in 1998, is an independent, regional, non-governmental organization dedicated to the defense of journalists and the promotion of media freedom in the Middle East and North Africa. .
