Technology transfer brings a number of benefits to universities and societies. Besides adding billions of dollars to the economy and supporting hundreds of thousands of jobs, it contributes to the creation of new businesses, as well as the creation of new products and services that improve people’s quality of life. The main goal of this study is to propose a reform for organizing an effective system of technology transfer and commercialization at Sevastopol National Technical University on the basis of studying best practices of the U.S. universities in this area. The following objectives were undertaken toward this goal: to study the technology transfer/commercialization structure at the University of Missouri; to analyze administrative tools and techniques used by technology transfer managers at the University of Missouri; to identify what methods and approaches could be adopted back in home university; to develop recommendations for improvement technology transfer management at Sevastopol National Technical University.
