This case study is devoted to exploring and analyzing the characteristics, procedures and practices in student affairs and campus life in higher education in the United States using Indiana University. The Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses of University of Indiana pay a great deal of attention to campus life and student services functions. The characteristics of campus life and the combined practical and epistemological approach to student services contribute to the comprehensive physical, social, spiritual, emotional, mental and philosophical development of the student, and hence their academic output. The rich and colorful experiences at Indiana University-Bloomington will serve not only to inform this study but will also be a basis for reform of campus life at Makerere University.
