Congratulations to the winners of our photo contest!
Thanks to all who participated! We received more than 550 submissions from around the world. A qualified panel of judges chose winners based on both artistic merit and their ability to illustrate our work in Technology, Information & Participation, Improving Communities, and Education & Employment. IREX's friends and followers on social media [10] helped select the People's Choice winner.

"Wonder World" by Pranab Basak
Judges were impressed with this photo of girls learning at an Islamic Madrasha. One noted it "captures a moment shared between young women so passively and brilliantly. No flash, none of the subjects disturbed by the camera. Their eyes are on each other and the model earth." He went on to say "the juxtaposition of the greys and blacks of the room and the girl's clothing with the warmth of the globe is wonderful and symbolic of the theme of the contest."
