Tibusius Pradeep Fernando volunteers at the Center for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights in Sri Lanka, organizing awareness campaigns, lectures, and curricula on human rights and conflict resolution.
While in the U.S., Tibusius worked for the Human Rights Education Institute [7] (HREI) in Idaho where designed the Diversity Training Program, taught courses on non-violence, and engaged in the organization’s community outreach strategy.
After returning to Sri Lanka, Tibusius began his follow-on project, creating the Institute of Civic Education which intends to promote multiculturalism and peace through civic education initiatives. The institute is developing its own curriculum around these issues and training volunteer mentors and leaders in the community to administer the courses.
