Susanna Halliday-Miller's bio
Susanna joined IREX to work on the development and management of the Teachers for Global Classrooms (TGC) [7] program. The TGC program provides professional development opportunities for U.S. teachers in order to equip them as practitioners and ambassadors of a globalized teaching pedagogy.
After teaching internationally in Moscow, Russia [8], Susanna returned to the States to teach English language arts and social studies with Seattle Public Schools where she earned her national board teaching certification. She completed a two year AmeriCorps fellowship with Teacher Education for the Advancement of a Multicultural Society (TEAMS), a program that brings together schools and community-based organizations to train teachers committed to equality, diversity, and excellence to work in disadvantaged schools.
Susanna has first-hand experience globalizing a classroom and served on her school’s International Education Committee, to reinvigorate school programs and strengthen instructional methods in international education.
Susanna used to sing competitively during her academic career. Later she started a choir program at the middle school where she taught in Seattle, Washington.
