As the Country Program Coordinator of Asha Nepal [8], Smrita Khadka works in the area of human trafficking by managing a hostel for children of trafficking survivors and educating young girls about human trafficking and their role in helping survivors reintegrate into the community by providing vocational training. Smrita wants to break the cycle of discrimination, illiteracy and poverty experienced by the children of human trafficking survivors through education and service initiates.
While in the U.S., Smrita worked with the international services division of the YMCA of Greater Houston [9] on the Trafficked Persons Assistance Program, learning the comprehensive case management and victim service delivery model widely used in the U.S.
