Olga Shestopalova, Ukraine, started her journalism career as a teen‐ager, writing for the newspaper TV Plus in her hometown of Slavyansk in the eastern part of the country. After completing university, she won a position in Kyiv as a staff correspondent for the 1+1 Studio television channel. She went on to cover the Orange Revolution and many other political, human rights and social issues. In 2008, she returned to her native region and TV Plus newspaper as an experienced journalist. She continues to report on a wide range of issues locally and from the capital, and is developing a web‐based information project for women.
