Marco Perez-Navarrete works for the Permaculture Institute of El Salvador [8], promoting sustainable agriculture and food sovereignty. He works with community leaders and governmental and non-governmental institutions to create networks and policies that support communities across the country. He plans to support development of permaculture learning centers, creating a more sustainable way of living, and teaching new generations how to protect the environment.
While in the U.S., Marco worked at Victory Garden Initiative [9] in Milwaukee, Wisconsin designing and improving a new model of community garden.
