Lamii Kpargoi is the Program Director at the Liberia Media Center, where he implements the Good Governance through Strengthened Media project to train media institutions in human rights reporting. He also promotes conflict-sensitive reporting and trains community radio media practitioners across the country in conflict mapping and response.
While in the U.S., Lamii gained insight into local governance while working at Voice of San Diego [6] where he covered the 2012 Mayoral race, conducting a weekly poll of all the declared candidates.
After returning to Liberia, Lamii implemented his follow-on project, entitled “Conflict Sensitive Reporting, and Rumor Management Project” which was carried out under the auspices of the Liberia Media Center’s (LMC) Good Governance through Strengthened Media project. By June of 2012, 40 participants were trained from 19 community radio stations which broadcast in nine of Liberia’s 15 counties.
