As the Capacity Building Coordinator for KAMEDA Public Foundation, Konstantin Kovtunets has coordinated and conducted a variety of trainings for NGOs in Kazakhstan including the Civic Alliance of Pavlodar region, which brought together 80 NGOs to discuss using collective bargaining to advocate for social policy changes.
During his time in the U.S., Konstantin worked with the Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations [7] (PACDC) where he assisted with the development of PACDC's new strategic plan, created assessment tools to measure the effects of the organization’s work, and conducted research on public policy formation in the U.S.
Upon returning to Kazakhstan, Konstantin implemented his follow-on project which aims to establish a research institution charged with providing evaluation of social programs and advocacy advice to civil society organizations. Konstantin established the research team, launched an initial feasibility study, developed the institution’s strategic plan and officially registered the institution through the Government of Kazakhstan, and has since applied for multiple grants.
