Kirstin provides technical support and leadership to implement IREX’s new business strategy, particularly within the Education Programs Division.
Kirstin has ten years of experience working both domestically and internationally in the field of education.
Prior to IREX, Kirstin led the education practice at DevTech Systems, Inc. where she managed U.S. Government funded education programs in Latin America and West Africa and supported business development opportunities. Kirstin provided technical support to programs that re-integrated at-risk children and youth into the formal education system and provided vocational/technical education and/or entrepreneurship training. Kirstin also has background in monitoring and evaluation of education programs.
Domestically, Kirstin served as the Associate Director of Programs at the Business-Higher Education Forum. She has experience in education policy and administration, especially in the areas of strategic education philanthropy, developing public-private partnerships, and higher education policy, particularly around issues of college access and success.
Kirstin has taught middle school English, humanities, history, and drama in Ecuador [7] and Thailand [8]. She holds an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. in English from Bates College.
Kirstin participates in the Nation’s Triathlon annually and really wants to learn to roll her white water kayak.
