As a Consultant for the Women of Kireka in Uganda, Hadijah Nankanja works on income-generating programs for women who are traditionally marginalized from the local economy.
While in the U.S., Hadijah worked with the Kansas Women’s Business Center [8] in Kansas City to build the business and entrepreneurial skills of marginalized women and facilitate their access to micro-loans.
Upon returning to Uganda, Hadijah implemented her follow-on project which focused on building the business skills of women entrepreneurs in Kireka. She established the Community Women’s Enterprise Network [9], which is now officially registered in Uganda. She plans to continue to offer entrepreneurial skill-building activities, mentoring to women business owners, and networking and other promotional events for its members.
