Fernando's Bio
Mr. Barragan joined IREX as the head of its finance department in early 2013. Fernando started his career in international development working for the Peace Corps Program in Bolivia, his home country. In 2003 he joined Chemonics International where he served in several roles over the next ten years, including long-term field assignments in Bolivia, Egypt and El Salvador and most recently as Corporate Treasurer. In this last role Fernando supervised the financial analysis and planning, field accounting, and cash management functions. Fernando completed his MBA, with emphasis in finance, at "Maestrias para el Desarrollo" a joint program by Universidad Catolica Boliviana and the Harvard Institute for International Development. He also holds a BS in Engineering from Universidad Catolica Boliviana.
In his free time Fernando enjoys running, biking and helping his two young sons complete their lego building projects.
