Emese Hortobagyi works as a Project Manager with Transparency International in Hungary [7], where she advocates for political party and campaign finance reform.
While in the U.S., Emese worked for Citizens Union [8] in New York City supporting the organization’s communications efforts and membership development.
After returning to Hungary, Emese implemented her follow-on project, entitled Transparency International BASE, with the aim of involving more youth in tackling government corruption. Emese created a social media platform and campaign to reach a broad base of youth and, as of summer 2012, 1300 youth members were part of the network with 20 youth volunteers helping to grow the membership pool. Over the course of the promotional campaign, the project was picked up and promoted by 50 different media outlets throughout the country.
