Carol is the country director of IREX' s Russia office. Concurrent with this position she oversees the activities of the IREX Moscow office’s education programs, and is responsible for a portfolio of high-level exchange programs as well as the USAID -funded Youth Development Competencies Program (YDCP) [9], a USAID-funded project that promotes youth civic engagement in 10 Russian regions.
Prior to holding this position, Carol served as director of the Business for Russia program that sent over six thousand Russian professionals to the United States on short-term internships. Earlier, she held the post of Regional Educational Advising Coordinator) for Eurasia, managing a large network of U.S. Department of State- sponsored Educational Advising Centers (EACs) that offer advice on American institutions of higher learning to prospective students and graduate students throughout Eurasia.
Carol manages a Moscow choir made up of over 60 expats and Russians. Last winter she visited Antarctica.
