Angela Marin is a founding member of the Technology and Disability Association of Peru, which trains blind and visually impaired people such as herself to use adaptive computer software for communication.
While in the U.S., Angela worked for the Nebraska Center for the Blind [8] where she helped to develop and prepare training for Rehabilitation Professionals in the critical skills of blindness.
Upon returning to Peru, Angela's follow-on project consisted of training blind and visually impaired people in Lima in mobility, home management, and communication and computer skills. In cooperation with the Commission of Blind Women of Peru, 30 blind people were trained through a series of workshops on independent living and computer skills. They also expanded the project to include a series of presentations and discussions on disability rights in Peru, including a teleconference and seminar on the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabilities.
