Last fall IREX brought you the story of Faroiz [8], a young woman In Tajikistan whose experience in IREX’s Youth Theater for Peace [9] program inspired her to launch conversations with her parents about early marriage and girls' education. Faroiz successfully convinced her parents to delay her own marriage so she could continue attending school in pursuit of her dream to become a doctor. This week, Faroiz’s story, Performing Empowerment, Changing a Father's Mind, is featured in the EngagingMen.net [10] Stories of Resistance and Change e-magazine [11] alongside stories of men and women from around the world who work for gender equality in their communities.
