In a recent Youth Citizen Journalism Club [7] article, Galina, a young woman from Kyrgyzstan, shared her thoughts about the Youth Theater for Peace [8] camp she visited and the issues she saw in participant plays:
“The theme of North-South relations grabbed me the most. This is a real problem these days, and I’ll admit I never thought a ‘hidden battle’ between the two sides of our country was being waged in schools. It made me glad that students look at this situation seriously – they are not indifferent, like many so-called adults – and they want to improve the situation by better developing southern Kyrgyzstan, as well as through friendship and mutual understanding.”
“The camp was an unforgettable experience not only for the youth… but also for me, as a member of the audience. This type of project can bring together and unify a large group of people, and only by working together can we bring peace and development to our Kyrgyzstan.”
