I recently got back from a two week trip in Indonesia, where I was doing research on civil society, religious tolerance, conflict resolution [7], women's rights, youth issues, and technology. Indonesia is the world's largest majority Muslim country as well as the third biggest democracy, and with thousands of islands, cultures, and languages is a very interesting place to visit.
One of my favorite things about Indonesia - both from a previous stay in 2005 and this trip - is the food, my favorite in the world. So, I'm going to use this opportunity to share some pictures of Indonesian street food.

Indonesia makes some incredible drinks. Here is a stand serving iced coconut milk - out of coconuts, and another with multiple options of tea and juices |

Everyone knows sate - here's how it's made. Chunks of chicken or lamb are grilled on sticks, while the area behind the window is used to create the spicy peanut sauce. |
