This year’s official celebration of World Press Freedom Day in Tunisia [7] brought together over 700 media professionals, freedom of expression advocates, and development experts to discuss key trends in media freedom globally. IREX again [8] played a key role in the event by supporting 42 fellows from 33 countries [9] and sponsoring a panel [10]on Innovations in Gathering and Sharing News. It featured discussion of how technology solutions can enhance media’s engagement with citizens to help develop a better informed public.
