Meet Our Leaders
[16]
Who are some of the leading African male gender experts? Who is developing sustainable energy in Bangladesh? How can I get in touch with conflict resolution practitioners in the Middle East?
IREX’s new web feature [16] answers those questions and more. It’s a searchable, digital repository of every participant in the Community Solutions Program [17]. From more than 30 countries, these leaders address global challenges with local solutions. By leveraging their networks and experience gained during four-month fellowship programs in the U.S., the leaders return home better equipped to direct and inspire long-lasting change.
Among the leaders are:
• Moses Sanga [18], recently featured in The New York Times [19] for his enterprising green fuel business;
• Yasmine Ibrahim [20], a founding partner of an organization that increases freedom of expression for women and youth in Egypt; and
• Landry Mayigane [21], a Rwandan expert on food security and climate change.
Check out the new tool [16] and let us know if you have any feedback by e-mailing communications@irex.org [22].
Community Solutions [17] is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs [23] of the U.S. Department of State and is implemented by IREX.
