[2]IREX is joining thousands of organizations, communities, and individuals for #GivingTuesday [3]. The first national day of giving at the start of the holiday season, #GivingTuesday celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations.
In appreciation of the assistance provided to one of our own families this year, IREX staff is pleased to announce the selection of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington, DC (RMHC) [4] as the recipients of our annual staff silent auction proceeds with matching funds donated by IREX. This morning IREX staff delivered a box of wish list items to the Ronald McDonald House for #GivingTuesday.
RMHC directly improves the health and wellbeing of children by supporting two Ronald McDonald Houses, a Ronald McDonald Care Mobile that provides on-the-spot medical care for children, and outreach programs that help children and young adults reach their full potential.
“RMHC is grateful to IREX and its generous employees for helping change a child’s life,” said Claudia Lewis, Director of Community Relations. “By choosing to honor the life of a child in the IREX family through #GivingTuesday and other initiatives, they are helping other families during one of the darkest time of their lives.”
As a charitable nonprofit organization itself, IREX is also accepting donations for #GivingTuesday at www.irex.org/donate [5]. IREX combines support from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individuals to help over half a million people a year.
